MassEquality Response to Charleston, South Carolina Shooting

In response to the tragic shooting that took the life of nine people in Charleston, South Carolina earlier this week, MassEquality released the following response: 

“The tragedy that unfolded in Charleston, South Carolina earlier this week is incredibly senseless and utterly devastating. Our hearts go out to the families of the nine victims whose lives were taken in a manner that was not only brutal, but in a sanctuary that millions of Americans congregate in to find peace while communing with others. Tragedies like this are a sobering reminder that evil, ignorance and bigotry must be fought with persistent love and unwavering support for all. As we mourn the nine lives lost, we must also resolve ourselves to fight the battle for the type of love, acceptance and understanding that defies the many phobias and isms that lead one lost and unbalanced young man to commit an ugly and hateful act. Here in Massachusetts, our thoughts and hearts are with the residents of Charleston and with everyone in South Carolina.”
