MassEquality Responds to the White House Statement on Gender Affirming Care

Late yesterday, the Biden Adminstration released a statement, stating that they were not in support of the full spectrum of gender affirming care for minors.

 Mass Equality firmly demands that the Biden Administration stand behind their commitment to fight any gender affirming care bans.  Healthcare decisions should not be decided upon by government entities.  Medical decisions for minors must continue to be made between the patients, their caregivers, and their healthcare providers.  Transgender health care is life saving healthcare and we must treat it as such.

As a society, is our moral obligation to ensure that our most vulnerable are protected.  Part of that obligation is to ensure that transgender youth have the healthcare that they desperately need.
